There was a canvas, half painted.
The upper part filled with colors,
the lower part left empty,
waiting for my own hand.

I learned: if I don’t paint my own garden,
others will step in with their brushes,
and I will be left with discomfort.

Today, I take up my own brush.
My waters may flow,
my garden may bloom,
my canvas may become whole.

Today is also the birthday of my daughter.
She came as a child of light,
with the lotus and the dragonfly,
walking a path of beauty and confrontation.

I remember the words of that evening:
“Welcome to the World, Julie.”
And she came, ten days too early,
but perfectly on time.

Welcome, child of light.
Always.

And so today my first e-book is born as well:
Echo of the Soul.
