Reflection — The Sea and Its Riversides

“Who do you think you are?”
said the riversides to the Sea.

The ones who remembered.

“I am Sea.

I am vast, spacious,
even luminous, if I may say so,
for the sake of the Creator itself.”

And then the Sea asked
the riversides:

“Who do you think you are?”

“We come from that same Sea,
yet somewhere
we seem to have forgotten
how to remember it.

The one
that keeps bringing us home
again and again.”
